Title: LAN Engineer (CNE)

Job Description
Support all aspects of Airborne LAN’s including testing, problem resolution, and administration of LAN hardware and software. Provide technical support and consultation on the installation and use of distributed hardware and software to end-users and ITS. Function as a project manager for support projects. Monitor performance and capacity of LAN hardware and software, and determine needs for additional capacity. Provide input as to future direction and strategies for LAN hardware and software.Minimum Requirements
- Current Novell Certified Netware Engineer qualification.
- At least three years experience in the design, installation, support and administration of Novell Netware in a mult-protocol, multi-platform network
- Project management experience.
- Working knowledge of IPX and TCP/IP
- Recent experience providing user support on personal computer hardware, software and operation systems, including Microsoft Windows 95.
- Strong skills in problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- A proven customer service orientation in recent job experience.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with integration of UNIX, Novell Netware, desktop and mainframe systems.
- Experience in tuning LAN performance.
- Experience configuring network management software such as Optivity, ManageWise,, LANDesk Manager.
- Experience configuring and managing Bay networks hubs and switches, Cisco routers.
