AIRBORNE EXPRESS RELOCATES ORANGE COUNTY OPERATION

SEATTLE -- January 21, 1997
Airborne Express has announced a relocation and consolidation of their Orange County operations in Garden Grove, CA to a brand-new built-to-suit facility in Long Beach, CA.

The new facility, located at 2828 Juniper, employs more than 70 people and provides air freight parcel sorting and distribution as well as counter drop off and pickup service.

"We had outgrown the Garden Grove location," said Chuck Schwerdtfeger, Airborne district field services manager. "The relocation places us in a much better location to service our customers and it also allows for future growth."

The new Airborne facility features 5,000 square feet of office space and 40,000 square feet of warehouse space with 90 interior van loading positions, five semi-truck loading dock positions and state-of-the-art mechanical handling and conveyor system equipment.

For more than 50 years, Airborne Express has served shipping needs of business customers around the world. Today, Airborne offers total distribution solutions by providing time-sensitive delivery of documents, letters, small packages and freight to virtually every U.S. ZIP code and more than 200 countries. Customers can select from a variety of services including same-day, next-morning, next-afternoon or second-day delivery, ocean service and logistics management.
