AIRBORNE EXPRESS ADDS NEW HOUSTON FACILITY

SEATTLE - April 8, 1997 - Airborne Express announced today the opening of a new and expanded facility to better serve the northwest Houston area.

The new facility, located at 14900 Hempstead Highway, employs 70 people and provides customers with a convenient package drop off and pickup location.

"This new station can be directly attributed to the tremendous growth we’ve been experiencing," said Cindy Whitson, Airborne district field services manager. "Airborne now has a total of five facilities in the Houston area."

The facility features 3525 square feet of office space and 37,925 square feet of warehouse space with 5 semi-truck loading dock positions, 60 interior van loading positions, and state-of-the-art mechanical handling and conveyor system equipment.

"Our new station allows Airborne to provide even a higher level of quality service to our area customers," said Debi Burton, Airborne station service manager. "We have an excellent staff of hardworking drivers and personnel ready to help with any shipping need."
