AIRBORNE EXPRESS NOW OFFERS SATURDAY DELIVERY IN ANCHORAGE

SEATTLE - May 8, 1997 - Airborne Express announced the beginning of Saturday service to Anchorage, AK, in addition to providing overnight service Monday through Friday.

"This means service to/from Anchorage is now like any other Airborne station," said Kaye Austin, Airborne district field service manager. "Next day delivery is available for outbound packages tendered by noon in the lower 48 states and inbound deliveries are made by 5 p.m. within Anchorage."

The station has experienced 38 percent growth over the past two years. During that time, an Airborne DC-9 serviced Anchorage for two years, four days a week. The DC-9 will now fly into Anchorage Tuesday through Saturday, and lay-over until Monday.

"Airborne is committed to providing its customers with the best service possible," said Jonathan Westbrook, Airborne sales representative. "This new service allows us to better serve our customers, and our customers to better serve their own."

The Anchorage station is located at 4025 W. 50th, Suite 1. Its hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday noon to 5 p.m.
