UNIVERSAL PICTURES BECOMES FOURTH MAJOR STUDIO USING AIRBORNE EXPRESS' INNOVATIVE FILM DELIVERY SYSTEM

SEATTLE -- December 18, 1995 -- Universal Pictures became the fourth major Hollywood sutdio to take advantage of an innovative film distribution program Airborne Express developed for Technicolor Entertainment Services to deliver movie prints to theaters nationwide.

Airborne now delivers all domestic releases for Universal as well as Buena Vista (The Walt Disney Co.), MGM/UA and Miramax Films, which together account for a significant portion of all domestic film releases.

The Technicolor-Airborne distribution program relies on sophisticated electronic communications, known as EDI, and Airborne's air express and expedited ground delivery services to ensure prints arrive at thousands of theaters on time, securely and undamaged.

Buena Vista, the first client when the Technicolor system debuted in 1993, last year pulled in an unprecedented $1 billion at the box office and credited part of its success to thenew print delivery program. That success has not gon unnoticed. Technicolr began delivering all prints for MGM/UA and Miramax in March.

The Technicolor-Airborne system involves bar-code tracking, automated inventory control, quality inspection and print maintenance processes as well as a film rejuvenation lab at Airborne's main domestic hub in Wilmington, Ohio.

Under the program, Airborne has delivered such recent films as Toy Story and Powder (Buena Vista), Get Shorty and Golden Eye (MGM), and The Crossing Guard and The Postman (Miramax).
